Insider's Tour to Japan with Jack Larsen (NOV 2-15)

Wanted to post this release from the LongHouse Reserve...

Insider's Tour to Japan:
November 2nd – November 15 2009

Join Jack Larsen on his 36th visit to Japan for a fabulous two-week island hopping tour!

Immerse in the natural beauty and rich craft traditions of the Rukyu Archipelago, visit Kyushu island's less explored sites including a home to Japanese outsider art and mountainside Onta kilns, explore Kagoshima's celebrated gardens and Kumamoto's famous castle.

Lavish in Japan's famous hospitality, from a relaxing day at a quintessential hot spring to the unparalleled serenity offered at the Benesse House and Museum, a contemporary art heaven designed by Tadao Ando on Naoshima island. Soak up the sublime wonder of I.M.Pei's masterpiece Shangri-La, the Miho Museum; then travel to the ancient capital of Nara and marvel at impeccably preserved, Emperor Shomu 8th c. treasures given to the Great Buddha. This exciting program concludes in the Tokyo metropolis with visits to Jack's handpicked favorites and special gatherings with his friends.

This tour has been scheduled in response to the overwhelming success of LHR's 2007 insider's tour with our tour leader extraordinaire, Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada. For more information on this once-in-a-lifetime experience, call Matko Tomicic at 631-329-3568.
